PostSubject: Easter Monday   Fri Apr 10, 2009 12:13 am

Okay, so I'm posting this for a status update and also to start setting up a plan for Monday.
What we got done today:
-Catwalk gels
-Gels for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th (most of them)
-Sidelight gels (most of them)
-Some catwalk focusing
-Borders (I think?)
-Brought the HL Vari*Lite to Gopher
Addie and I also got some cue stuff done with Freeman, though on the lighting side it was pretty much all verbal.

What still needs to be done:
Van needs to finish patching the board ASAP.
Vari*Lites: Er... what's going on with the one that's at Gopher?
Catwalk:
-FINISH FOCUSING

Booms:
-Gel HL boom (Top rung: R02 [?] + bottom rung L174)
-Focus HL boom (one on bottom rung goes to balcony)
-Focus HR boom (top rung)
1st:
-Done except one S4 needs to be focused/gelled...
2nd:
Done.
3rd:
Done.
4th:
-Power
-One fresnel needs a gel (R16)
-Focus
Cyc:
-Power
-Gel
Sidelight:
-Gels need to go in SL tree (L036 + L025)
-Power
-Focus
Spot tower:
-Gel (R02)
-Focus
Balcony:
-Gel (R02 or L16)
-Focus
Color commands (duh)
Fire effect
Blinding effect: Nathan: Freeman was pretty adamant about having the lights *blinding* the audience, so he really wants the 1Ks on the bar that has the wedding decorations on it. He didn't really seem to like the idea of having them on the cyc, so I'm going to have to talk to Leah before Monday about her plans for the decorations/how to get the 1Ks on that bar. If anyone else has any ideas, let me know.

Remind me of anything that I forgot, I tried to be as detailed as possible.

Plan for Monday:
Call time is 9am, the color commands are (hopefully) getting in at 10.
Before 10am patching and finishing focusing the catwalk/booms is first priority (and any setup that we need for the color commands).
I talked with Freeman today and the dress rehearsal is officially a cue-to-cue, not so much a dress rehearsal. I don't even think that actors are going to be in costume. Chris and Van are going to be at their respective boards at this time and Merrett will be calling the stops and starts. Cue-to-cue starts at 6pm. So we've got 9 hours to work before that, woohoo.
Beyond that, I don't have much of a plan, I just know what needs to get done. So if anyone has anything to add, please do. I'm also sending this beast of a post in a techie email (techies@minnehahaacademy.net) since not everyone checks this forum.
Bleh, sorry again for the length, but this was as much to get my thoughts typed out as it was to let people know what's going on. heh.

starting discussion here instead of in emails, its a lot easier here.

That all looks good, I just have a few notes for monday.

before Van patches we need to completely clear the patch in order to get the VL parameters out of the patch.

on Monday we should have everything set up and running nicely by 3:00, so then we will have 3 hours to program cues before the cue to cue, so that we have to stop as little as possible, its probably more than enough time, but that should be our goal.

Good point, thanks. Also, any idea on what's happening with the PC software for controlling the devices? If we don't have it by Monday, is the plan just to program the color commands and Vari*Lites into groups?
And Mr. Hallermann: Are we going to have the Vari*Lite back by Monday, or is that too soon to expect it?

not sure on the status, but yes we will have to program in groups if we don't have it.
